The very fact that I’m alive and breathing is a powerful testimony. This year brought a sobering health scare that reminded me just how fragile life can be. I’ve battled iron deficiency anemia since around 2009. Though my body absorbs iron well, specialists have never been able to explain why my levels kept dropping—sometimes dangerously low, even below 6.

In September, I began experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath—symptoms I’d never felt before. A trip to the ER confirmed critically low iron levels, and I had to undergo a blood transfusion. It was a frightening moment, yet my faith in God never wavered. My husband stayed by my side through the night, and by morning, hope had returned.

Today, I’m on a daily iron supplement and praying my levels stay stable. I’ve gone from taking it three times a day to just once, and I’m believing for continued progress. This journey has taught me the importance of listening to your body and making your health a priority.

Stay encouraged—and take care of yourself. Blessings!
