In Colossians 3:22–25, Paul speaks to servants in the Greco‑Roman world — but the principles apply powerfully to us today. Whether you work under a boss, supervisor, teacher, military authority, or any earthly leader, Scripture calls us to serve with integrity, sincerity, and whole‑hearted devotion.
“Masters according to the flesh” simply means human authorities who can direct your actions but can’t define your identity or determine your destiny. That belongs to Christ alone. When you work with your whole self — honestly, diligently, and “heartily as unto the Lord” — you honor God and store up an eternal inheritance. And even when earthly justice fails, the Lord Himself will repay impartially and set all things right.
